Moving from CStoreOffice to CStoreNexus
Our own stations ran on CStoreOffice when we started building this. So the move was designed by people who had to make it: no retyping a price book, no hunting for a report you use every week, and no trusting a new number until it has matched the old one.
Your price book comes with you
Export your items from CStoreOffice the way you already can, and import the file. Thirty-five thousand items come in in one pass — UPC, description, size, category, price group — and nothing is typed twice. Item identity is kept once for the account; cost, retail and margin are kept per location, so a station that charges more keeps charging more.
Your reports are where you expect them
The report library keeps the report names and numbers you already know — Store Sales Detailed is still 9789 — so the person who runs the same three reports every Monday can find them on the first morning. Seventy-plus are live today, all on one filter bar: period, compare, stations, group by. Every one exports to CSV.
Run both, side by side, until the numbers agree
You do not have to cancel anything to find out whether this works for you. The collector copies the files your registers already write — it does not move or delete them, and it changes nothing on the register — so it runs beside the back office you have now. Compare a week of store sales, department sales and fuel between the two, then decide. It is how our own stations were brought on.
- Day one — the collector goes on one store's office PC in a short remote session; today's sales start arriving while we are still on the call.
- First close — the shift report builds itself from the register's day-close files. Put it next to the one you trust.
- When they agree — bring the price book over and add the other stores. Each one is a line on the bill, not a project.
What will feel familiar, and what will not
Familiar
A shift is reviewed and accepted before it counts. An invoice's costs do not touch a margin until it is accepted. Price groups outrank items. Reports run on accepted days only.
Different, on purpose
One price with everything in it — no modules, no per-report fees, no per-user seats. Invoices read from a photograph. Every page names the file its numbers came from. A phone app for the same numbers.
Which registers
Gilbarco Passport and Verifone Commander, on one account. If you run something else, ask — the collector reads files, and most registers write them.
Questions people ask before they move
Do I have to cancel CStoreOffice first?
No. Run both while you compare. The collector copies the register's files rather than moving them, so nothing is taken away from the system you already have.
What happens to my history?
CStoreNexus builds its history from the register files it collects, so it starts the day the collector goes on — plus whatever the register can still re-send, which on a Passport is about a week. Keep your old reports for the years before that.
How long does the move take?
The collector is a short remote session per store and sales start arriving the same day. How long you run the two side by side is up to you; a month covers a full set of weekly and monthly reports.
Will my managers need retraining?
Less than you would expect: the accept step, price groups and the report names work the way they are used to. Managers and employees see only the stores on their list.
What does it cost?
$249 per store, per month, month to month. Every screen, every report, the collector, the phone app and unlimited users are included.
Is CStoreNexus connected to Petrosoft?
No. CStoreNexus is an independent product built by a multi-store operator in Memphis, Tennessee. CStoreOffice is a trademark of its owner, Petrosoft, and is named here only so that operators comparing the two can find this page.
