A day added up from its own transactions
A Passport hands over a day that is already summarised. A Commander hands over the transactions, so CStoreNexus adds the day up itself — department and fuel sales, tax, and the tender breakdown are all summed from the day's own sales, and the tenders balance to sales plus tax. The shift report says that is how it was built, so nobody reads a journal-built total as if the register had summarised it.
One honest difference: a Commander's day arrives at close
A Passport writes a journal file every minute, so its sales show through the day. A Commander releases its journal when a period closes, so a Commander station's figures land when the shift or the day closes. The screen tells you which kind of station you are looking at, and a station that has sent nothing yet says nothing received — never $0.
One account for a mixed fleet
Most operators who have a Commander also have a Passport somewhere. Both kinds of station sit on one account, in one review queue and one price book — with cost, retail and margin kept per location, because one product is not one price. Adding a store needs no setup in the software.
Prices and promotions, back to the Commander
A price or mix-and-match change is written in the Commander's own item and mix-and-match table format and held in a queue you accept. Nothing reaches a till without that accept, and only the register's own acknowledgement counts as “on the register”.
How it connects
The same small Windows agent that reads a Passport — the collector — installs on the office PC at the store and asks the Commander, over the store's own network, for the reports it already produces. It reads; it changes nothing on the Commander, and it never deletes a file it has collected. One installer covers both register types.

Does it work with Ruby and Topaz registers?
It works with the Verifone Commander site controller those registers run on. The Commander is what holds the journal, the fuel totals and the till report, and that is what the collector reads.
Will I see live sales through the day on a Commander?
Not the way a Passport station shows them. A Commander releases its journal when a period closes, so a Commander station's figures arrive at shift or day close. We would rather tell you that here than let a quiet screen look like a slow day.
Do the tenders and tax come through?
Yes. Each sale in the journal carries its own tax and its own payments, so the tender breakdown and tax are summed from the transactions and balance to sales plus tax.
Does reading it change anything on the Commander?
No. The collector only asks for reports the Commander already produces. The only thing that goes the other way is a price change you have accepted.
What does it cost?
